Now Everyone Can Complain

AirAsia’s “Now Everyone Can Fly” has become the inspiration for National Consumer Complaints Centre (NCCC)’s tagline “Now Everyone Can Complain”.

Although still under Fomca, the NCCC is an independent body registered as a foundation-cum-NGO, with the motto “Fair, Easy, and Efficient” to describe its service to the public.

There are just two full-time workers and a couple of part-timers, while chambering students from the Selangor Bar Council help out. (PASIM: Thank goodness for them!)

At NCCC, the procedure in seeking redress is that it will first write to the company concerned and if it does not respond, the centre will advise the complainant to go to the Housing Tribunal (for housing problems) or the Consumer Claims Tribunal (for other complaints).

Currently, it is airing its own TV programme called Your Rights, a 13-episode show on Astro.

  2. hello =)

i’ve just finished reading your post and here’s my 2 bits worth =)

For all those considering New York Skin Solution’s (NYSS) facial treatments, here a piece of good-willed advice: DON’T!!!!! On the basis of freedom of speech in Singapore, here’s my experiences coupled with my honest opinions about their services.

You know how some beauty parlours treat you like royalty prior to signing up for a package with them, and then kick you aside after they’ve received your payment for future treatments? Well, NYSS falls into this category. Their customer service was horrible for a company in the service industry (especially the white sand’s branch!).

    1. Firstly, rude and abrupt phone operators.
    2. Secondly, no initiatives on their part to remind you of your next appointment (unlike various others beauty salons I have been too).
    3. Thirdly, very very VERY inflexible schedules (most of the beauticians have tightly-packed schedules; in my opinion, they are biting off much more than they can chew, hence the deterioration in customer service quality).
    4. Lastly, I did not have a fixed, stable consultant who was familiar my skin condition (for all those whom are not in the know about this: a consultant in beauty parlours as such, is usually assigned to every client, so that she will be familiar with your skin condition + follow up on your progress consistently + is aware of the products suitable for your skin + develop a rapport with the clients and to maximise their satisfaction) – my friends with various others NYSS branches complained of the same issue as well!!

Sadly enough, NYSS did not provide any of these customary services for me. I personally felt their main aim was to generate profits from the public: each beautician trying to expand their clients’ base so as to earn more commission, and neglecting the satisfaction/feelings of the clients (not even placing it as second on their list in my opinion!)

Apart from the services’ flaws, their treatment itself isn’t as good/reliable as what they proposed them to be. (I signed up for a cleansing treatment for my pimply complexion…)

    1. They were not thorough in extracting out all the clogged pores, which later (about 2 days later) resulted in inflammation of these pore (redness + pus). I called to complain on several occasions, but they always claimed their beauticians aren’t free to treat my condition before my next stipulated appointment AND THAT IT WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE!!! I feel like swearing whenever I hear this pathetic excuse.
    2. During the application of anti-septic right after extraction, they were not meticulous enough to clean the entire face (the nose portion was always left out). I had to remind the beautician(s) to do so, in which she would EITHER not respond and sulkily do it OR said that it didn’t matter much. I mean… You guys are supposed to be thorough and detailed and committed to your job, NOT NONCHALENT! And what’s with the attitude???!!
    3. They were highly inconsistent with their treatments: sometimes I had the oxygen steam treatment to reduce the redness due to extraction, other times I didn’t. I actually had to remind them on a few occasions, to which they acted AS IF they remembered that it was part of my treatment. It was freaking obvious it slipped their mind for crying out loud!!!
Here are my grievances about NYSS. As for any improvements in my skin condition, i would say that it is NOT UP TO EXPECTATIONS because they promised so much and delivered so little. My face condition did not get any less oily or clogged even after purchasing their products and facial package. If I may assume so, it is about in the same condition as prior to these facials at NYSS! What a disappointment!!!! What a waste of money and time!!!!

Please DO NOT land yourselves in the same situation as I am currently in. This is a warning of the kind of services/treatments they provide. I have had my share of UNPLEASANT experiences with New York Skin Solutions, and I hope you guys WILL NOT fall prey to their sales gimmicks and empty promises!

    Please make a WISE DECISION!!
All the best!! I hope the above experience and comments helped =)
    Sincerely,
    HF =)

    • Hi..I wanna ask u..do we can take the balance of our money back if we cancel the treatment in NYSS?and how?

      reply me A.S.A.P plz..tq

  3. Hi, I went to NYSS yesterday. It was 1 free trial session. After the the facial treatment then they have half an hour briefing on what kind of treatment and package “suits” me. Well…here we go ..:) According to the consultant, my skin needs 30 sessions which cost RM7500! Hollycow. I told her that it was damn expensive. THen she reduced it to RM4000 for 10 sessions with 50% off. I said…I have to think about it”. Guest what.. they were using the same technique to get customer..”Miss if u dont take this offer today, you gonna pay full amount if u want to take this package later”. With confidence I answered her back; ” If i want, I will come back and I dont mind paying you the full amount!”… I agree with the blog writer…we can always say NO :)

  4. i’m the unluckiest person to fall into their stupid dirty little tricks…i went to NY skin care to treat my acne problem last year (around nov 2010)…guess what?
my face gotten even more worse!
red spots & ice pick scars everywhere on my cheek. like a colony of aliens invaded my face!!
god! do u know how i can sue NY skin care?? i’m very very mad with NY skin care. the beautician even forced me to do another treatment to get rid of red spots that will cost me RM 5800. but i said NO! screw NY skin care!!!

  5. I am having the same problem now. Signed package for my oily & large pore condition. But, end up with pimples skin now. I wanted to stop the treatment & asked for refund. NYSS keep on passing me to one & another person. Nobody can help me! I just advice NEVER Step in NYSS!!

  6. I fall into their stupid dirty little tricks too…as ss ask, do we can take the balance of our money back if we cancel the treatment in NYSS?and how? really hope can do something about that…
